WCF Sampson's Love is a long awaited dream come true for Prairie Wind Ranch. We fell in love with his dam and her progeny years ago and patiently waited for our turn on the waiting list for one of her foals. In 2024 that dream became reality when a beautiful blue roan colt was born. We took the plunge and are so glad that we did.

Sampson is 75% Friesian and 25% Percheron. His dam is 50% Friesian and 50% Percheron, blue roan and stands at 17.1 hands. His sire is a son of Doaitsen 420 and a kroon KFPS mare. Both sire and dam have sweet temperaments and Sampson continues that trait. Both parents have tested negative for PSSM1 so Sampson is negative as well. He is homozygous black and heterozygous roan. His expected mature height is 17 hands.

 

Our 2025 goals for Sampson were to develop him into a well-mannered, versatile, and fully socialized young stallion. He lives with our bred mares and is gentle with the foals. His mild temperament and intelligence makes him a pleasure to work with and he has exceeded our high expectations. He has already successfully bred two PWR mares and has completed phantom training so shipped semen will be available to a limited number of mares in 2026. His 2026 breeding contract is below.
